Tapping Into Your Gut Feeling: Intuition vs Ego

This week’s episode is a little different—I’ve never recorded at night before, but there was just too much on my heart to wait until morning. It's sunset right now, that golden hour light is pouring in, I’m sitting on my meditation mat, Bear (my pup) is sleeping beside me, and the vibe is super zen. So welcome to my sacred little nook.

This episode is about something that trips up so many people: how to tell the difference between your head (ego) and your heart or intuition (soul).

People often ask:

  • "How do I know if this is my gut talking or just fear?"

  • "How do I tell when my ego is making the choice?"

We also talk about how to clear your energy, because the clutter in your energetic field can block your intuitive clarity.

Creating the Space for Intuition

You must create the space to even hear your intuition. Start small:

  • 5 minutes a day in silence

  • Focus only on your breath

  • Let thoughts pass like background noise

This isn’t about “meditating the right way.” It’s about presence. As you practice, you’ll begin to distinguish between the noise of the ego and the still voice of intuition.

How Intuition Speaks to You

Everyone experiences intuition differently:

  • Gut feelings

  • Internal visions or mental images

  • Quiet inner voices

Ask yourself: How does my inner wisdom speak to me?

And remember, your brain (ego) is always on—it’s a problem-solver, but not always your compass. Learning to separate yourself from your thoughts is a game-changer.

  • Chasing

Intuition feels like:

  • Calm

  • Soft knowing

  • Ease

Example: Job opportunity shows up. Ego panics, rushes, and fears rejection. Intuition sits with it, feels the energy, decides calmly, and trusts.

Every opportunity is like a butterfly landing on your hand. Let it stay as long as it wants. Don't try to force it to stay. Nothing is forever—your job is to allow and trust.

Why We Stop Trusting Ourselves

We believe that if something causes pain, it must’ve been the wrong decision. But pain is part of growth. Right decisions can still hurt. That doesn’t make them wrong.

Your brain wants safety. But your soul wants expansion.

Clearing Your Energy

When you’re highly sensitive, your energetic field absorbs everything. Clearing it is essential.

Ways to clear your energy:

  • Walk by water (oceans, rivers, lakes)

  • Spend time in nature (especially among pine trees)

  • Meditation and breathwork

  • Epsom salt or Himalayan salt baths

  • Burning sage or Palo Santo

  • Cleaning and decluttering your space

These practices help you release what isn’t yours and reconnect to your own intuitive guidance.

Your intuition is always guiding you—but you must create the space to hear it and trust it.

Ask yourself:

  • What dream is buried inside me?

  • What’s stopping me from just trying?
